Terms and Conditions Relating to Risk Assessment

This assessment has been completed by J-JAZ Services and Training Ltd to assist the responsible person in carrying out their duties and to comply with the statuary duty imposed by the Fire Precautions (workplace) Regulations 1997, 3 as amended 1999, 4 and the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005. Your premises may also be subject to the provisions of a licence or registration (e.g. under the Licensing Act 200347), and the fire authority may wish to review your risk assessment as part of the licensing approval process. Fire safety conditions within your licence should not be set by a licensing authority where the Order1 applies.

The findings of the assessment are based upon an inspection of the premises, verbal and written information supplied by you on our visit. The report contains details of any change to management practises, procedures, processes or storage arrangements we consider necessary and any remedial work that J-JAZ Services and Training Ltd believe must be carried out to meet the statuary duty imposed by the order.

The Responsible Person (appointed by management) must now carefully consider this assessment and decide to or not to adopt this as your assessment of risk by the order. It may be decided to adopt only parts of this assessment or not carry out all recommended actions. If this is the case you must re-assess and justify your actions always ensuring that you have taken into consideration you are providing a safe environment for your employees and persons visiting your premises. J-JAZ Services and Training Ltd are willing to re-assess and liaise with management on matters you feel could be changed to meet your needs and still conform with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.

If the recommendations are adopted an action plan should now be planned to meet all the points to be corrected detailing a time scale for completion, and prioritize these in an order of risk. Any failure in completing the plan may have an effect on the safety of you place of work/meeting and put added pressure onto the responsible person in completing his tasks effectively.

Management must put procedures in place to ensure that the action plan is being adhered to and the safety of all employees and visitors is of a high priority.

Any assessment of risk may and can change daily depending on work being carried out and changes to the work practise or place, this may make the assessment invalid. The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 demands a constant and dynamic regime is imposed to safeguard all persons that may be affected; these means a constant review of the assessment and if necessary review the policy completely.

The responsible person is advised to carry out checks as recommended in the fire safety log and review the management’s policy to ensure changes required are completed.
