Where to Start?
Health Appraisal?

A health appraisal is a combination of tests to determine your overall fitness, this will include looking into areas like “Lung Capacity” and “Blood Pressure” along with your general Cardio Vascular fitness.

What is Assessed?
Resting Heart Rate, Blood Pressure, Lung Function - this includes expired volume of air and lung capacity, Grip test to determine arm shoulder strength, Lower Limb Flexibility and Body Fat Measurement using the Bodystat 1500.
We will then move onto physical assessments, walk on a treadmill for 2 km, your time and heart rate are recorded and a fitness index can be measured.

There are also upper body assessments in the form of press ups, sit ups and standing squats and a 1½ mile run, for those more adventurous. This will be run separate to the main appraisal.

Result Calculation
The results are calculated using specialized measuring devices which can give a true and accurate measurement of what is going on with your body in relation to your general fitness and well being. As you would imagine an assessment of this length and depth will take some time, please allow between 2 – 3 hours for completion.
A detailed print out of the assessment may be given on request.

Who can benefit from this Assessment?

Personal/Group Training and the Health Appraisal

Personal Training
After your detailed Health Appraisal/Fitness Assessment you may discover something lacking and need the advice and assistance from a qualified Personal Trainer, sessions will be offered to meet your requirements in fitness at £30 per session, normally lasts 1 hour.

Group Training
As a qualified and experienced Physical Training Instructor I can organise and conduct group training sessions to suit your particular sport in the form of circuits or sports specific testing and endurance sessions.

What benefit can you get?
Your problem areas can be resolved by constructive training regimes e.g.Your lung efficiency is poor – advice and help may be given for cardio vascular exercise to improve the efficiency.
Strength levels are poor – a detailed weight training programme may be designed specifically for you and your needs.
Lack of energy – you may find that your energy levels are down due to your diet and eating habits, basic advice may solve this problem, if not a more detailed look at your diet may be needed to find the shortfalls.

How does Personal Training work?
Training may be carried out in two forms. The first where I direct you with a personal programme designed for you with your specific needs taken into account. The second where I take you on a one on one session you may even have a friend who wants to join in, this is the best road to achieving results and maintaining the fitness levels.

Where do we train?
I am the more traditional type of trainer and I will carry out training at your home or in the local area, I never use gyms.
